- Kahn and Antonucci (1984) Network Questionnaire. Respondents are confronted with a diagram of three concentric circles with herself in the centre. She is asked to place (by initial) in the inner circle those individuals who are "so close that it is hardly to imagine to live without them","not quite so close but still very important" in the second circle
and "not quite as close but still important" in the third.
For the first ten persons listed mothers were asked to indicate those
