Remarks
During the 48 minutes interview, organic gummi bears were offered from an already opened bag on the table. The child had to resist the temptation to eat the candies until the interview with the mother was finished in order to get the opened bag of gummi bears along with a second bag. If the child did not resist, they would only receive this one, opened, bag of gummi bears and not a second bag. The child's understanding of the contingency was tested and ensured by repeating the instructions if necessary. Mothers were instructed not to influence their children in their behavior.
