- Participants of the two intervention programmes were emailed Questionnaire 2 after completion of the seventh exercise (on average, participants in the intervention conditions completed this questionnaire 13 days after they completed the baseline questionnaire). Participants in the wait list condition were automatically emailed the invitation to Questionnaire 2 14 days after baseline questionnaire.

- Participants were randomly assigned to:
1A: PERMA INTERVENTION.
(PERMA is acronym for Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment). Participants received links to instructions for 7 exercises on a daily basis, the next link to be sent when the preceding exercise had been completed. Exercises were: practicing gratude, savouring the moment, you at your best, random acts of kindness, visualizing your best possible self, wearing a smile and brainstorming meaningfulness.
1B: GRATITUDE INTERVENTION
Participants received links to instructions for 7 gratitude exercises on a daily basis, the next link to be sent when the preceding exercise had been completed.
