- Participants were randomly assigned to:
1. GRATITUDE TRAINING.Duration 8 weeks. Participants were asked o keep a weekly log of three GOOD things or events that happened to them during the week, and record them using a count-your-blessings form. They were asked to reflect on these good things or events and the meanings these things or events had for them and what these things or events could tell about them by answering 3 questions: What did I get and what did the experience tell about me? What did I give and what did the experience tell about me? What more could I do and what could this tell about me?
0. APPROACH CONDITION = CONTROLS. Duration 8 weeks. Participants were asked to keep a weekly log of three BAD things or events that happened to them during the week and record them using a count-your-misfortunes form. They were asked to reflect on these bad things or events and the meanings these things or events had for them and what these things or events could tell about them to reflect on these bad things or events and the meanings these things or events had for them and what these things or events could tell about them by answering 3 questions: What did I get and what did the experience tell about me? What did I give and what did the experience tell about me? What more could I do and what could this tell about me?
