The Spirituality Index was computed by counting the responses to 3 questions:
a. do you belong to any particular religion (yes/no)
b. how often do you pray or meditate? (never or daily and weekly)
c. do you believe in unseen spiritual powers (yes = definitely and somewhat)
The index ranges from 0 to 3.
