Openness about being LGBTI was assessed with the following question:
To how many people among the following groups are you open about being LGBTI?
A Family members
B Friends
C Neighbours
D Work colleagues
E Schoolmates / university co-students
F Immediate superior / head of department
G Customers, clients, etc. at work
H Medical staff / healthcare providers

For every group, respondents could choose between the following answers:
1 None
2 A few
3 Most
4 All
- Does not apply to me

Respondents were categorized in the four openness levels based on their answers.
