- 6 love-styles:
A Storge lover: friendship love, prefers slowly developing relationships
B Agapic: altruistic selfless love, a combination of passionate, intensely felt emotinal love and storgic love
C Maniac: combination of erotic and ludic love, producing a possesive obsession toward the beloved.
D Pragmatic: a combination of erotic and ludic love producing a 'shopping list' approach' to love.
E Ludic: Love conceived as a game to be played with many partners and little commitment.
F Erotic: A passionate, intensely felt emotional love.
To assess these 6 love-styles respondents had to fill in a 50-question tru-false test, the SAMPLE Profile test. Testing occurred in 2 sessions with 70 repondents each.
Relative scores were used for this analysis: they were obtained by subtracting the mean of each subject's 6 norm scores from his norm score for a particular love scale, and then dividing the remainder by the standard deviation of his 6 norm scores.
