Our Classification
Operationalization
Index of 19 questions on satisfaction with current housing:
a:  5 items on features of the dwelling
b: 14 items on neighborhood characteristics

Rated:
-2 very dissatisfied
;
+2 very satisfied

Respondents also rated the importance of each item on a 5-point scale ranging from 'unimportant'  to ' very important' (1 to 5). For each item a satisfaction by importance product was computed.

The sum of these products provided an overall measure for residential congruence.
