Operationalization
Rated agreement with 4 reasons why they strive for a goal
- external (because I have to or my situation demands it)
- introjected (because I feel guilty, anxious, or ashamed if I didn't)
- identified (because I identify with it, even when its not fun and anjoyable)
- intrinsic (because it is intrinsically interesting or challenging)

Ratings were based on either a single or four important self-generated personal goal, in last case the ratings were averaged

A single self-concordance measure is computed by summing the intrinsic and identified ratings and subtracting the externeal and introjected ratings
