Photographs were rated for physical attractiveness by 8 raters on a scale 1(extremely unattractive) to 10 (extremely attractive).

Photographs were taken under four  conditions:
Natural condition: Ss was told to stand at a designated spot and look into the camera. If Ss asked whether or not they should smile, they were told that it was their choice.
Neutral condition: Ss were asked to form a neutral expression
Smiling condition: Ss were asked to give their best smile.
Adorned condition: Ss were asked to remove jewelry and facial cosmetics, to wear a white vinyl shower cap that cover their hair and a white lab coat to cover clothing
