 Surgery patients (n=109); Chemotherapie patients (N=108); Ex-cancer-patients (N=192). Recruiting: The patients groups came from six hospitals in theNetherlands, and were asked to participate in the study by the doctor in charge of their treatment. In order to obtain as varried a sample as possible, the type of cancer, the seriousness of the disease and the stage of the disease were not criteria fot selection. Consecutive surgical patients were selected from hospital registry in the week after discharge.
