 The sample consisted of an experiemntal and a control group. The experimental group consisted of 5 people recruited from advertisements distributed to a local education centre and 24 students, mainly psychology undergraduates, recruited from Royal Holloway, University of London. The community participants were paid for participation and the students were given the choice of payment ($20) or receiving course credits. The participants were divided into 5 groups, ranging from 5-7 participants in each group. Controls were selected to match the GAP group on age, gender and student vs. community status.
