Wim Kalmijn 1934-2015

After a career as a chemical engineer and statistician in the industry, Wim Kalmijn has made his expertise free available for projects of general interest, one of which was this World Database of Happiness. Wim has redesigned the statistics section and has added to the development of scale conversion methods. He co-authors several publications on this subject and in 2010, at age 76, he obtained a PhD on a doctoral dissertation entitld ‘Quantification of happiness inequality’. We miss his advice and company.
