Introductory text to Collection of Happiness in Special Publics

This collection consists of research findings on happiness in special publics, that is, populations other than the general public living in an area.

This collection does not include sub-groups selected from samples in wider populations, e.g. elderly persons selected from a sample of the general population in a country as presented in a specification of a correlational finding. The classification provides links to such ‘related subjects’

Special publics in which happiness has often been assessed are:

  • adolescents
  • elderly
  • medical patients
  • migrants
  • user of a happiness training

Some exceptional special publics are:

  • monks
  • prostitutes
  • prisoners

This collection holds distributional findings and correlational findings in these populations

This collection can be searched on

  • place and time of the investigation
  • measure of happiness used
  • subject of correlational findings, if any
  • methods of investigation
