The World Database of Happiness is a project of the Erasmus Happiness Economics Research Organization EHERO, which is based in the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
The mission of EHERO is to contribute to greater happiness for a greater number of people. EHERO does this by providing evidence-based knowledge about happiness, with the aim of promoting better informed choices to be made by governments, organizations and individuals.
EHERO provides this knowledge on happiness in three ways:
1) Gathering existing knowledge. This is mainly done by the World Database of Happiness
2) Developing new knowledge. This done in primary research, such as on effect on happiness of work organization
3) Sharing knowledge. This is done in courses, consultancy, media presentations and publications
