STATISTICS USED
Three kind of statistical measures used in the finding pages excerpts are discussed.
- Statistics that are used for describing how happy people are in a particular population
- Statistics used for characterizing/quantifying the relationship with other variables (correlates)
- Statistics for testing hypotheses about associations (mostly the null hypothesis of no association at all in the population from which the sample has been drawn)
An overview survey of the various statistics and statistical techniques that have been used in empirical studies on happiness is provided. This overview is alphabetically ordered and consists of shorthand descriptions of the statistics. The statistics used in the excerpts link to these descriptions.
